Welcome

The Township of Severn is a rural municipality located within the County of Simcoe which is uniquely situated in the heart of cottage country, only one and a half hours north of Toronto. Our close proximity to both the cities of Barrie and Orillia, means that all of the "comforts of home" are readily available.

So whether you're planning to visit, work or retire... Come and experience Severn!

About Us

We can offer business and families an alternative choice to the hectic pace of a larger urban centre. Severn Township residents and Council believe in the philosophy of community and working in partnership for a better place to live and work. We are dedicated to fostering a high quality rural lifestyle, through our commitment to enhancing public safety, preserving the natural environment and seeking opportunities for economic prosperity.

Peaceful views abound, be it from the 9th hole, a canoe on the Severn River, the cottage porch – or even your office window! Severn Township invites business and industry to “resort to cottage country”. Yes, you can close a business deal in the GTA, and still be home in time to cast your fishing line or hike one of our scenic trails.
