Severn is proud to recognize the election of the Township’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Laurie Kennard as President of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Municipal Administrators’ Association (OMAA) as of May 17, 2024.

Fire danger rating set at moderate as of May 17

Effective May 17 the fire danger rating in Severn is set to moderate. Burning is permitted, but please burn with caution.
About the fire danger ratingAlways check the fire danger rating before starting a fire. The fire danger rating is determined using the Fire Weather Index (FWI), an internationally used method for ranking the risk of open-air fires. It considers humidity, temperature, recent rain amounts, as well as wind directions and wind speed.

Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) and facilities will be closed on Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day. We will reopen Tuesday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m.

Notice of Victoria Day office closure

Our Administration Office will be closed on Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day. We will reopen Tuesday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m.
You can report a concern or file a by-law complaint on our website. Contact our Public Works department after hours at 1-855-527-8841.

Coldwater Cemetery update: Burial and interment services now managed by Sanderson Monument

The monuments in the Township of Severn's Coldwater Cemetery located at 12 Craddock Street represent family traditions, regional symbols and the lifestyles of our community. Monuments range from early sandstone memorials to large rough blocks of granite and intricately carved headstones.
Effective May 2024, Sanderson Monument has been contracted to manage all fees, burial and internment requests at the Coldwater Cemetery.
