- or even your office window! Severn Township invites business and
industry to "resort to cottage country". Yes, you can close a

fishing line or hike one of our scenic trails.
Did you know.....
- The Township of Severn is a new municipality,
founded on January 1, 1994, through the restructuring of Simcoe
County.
- The Township of Severn is comprised of the
former Village of Coldwater, Township of Orillia and Matchedash,
as well as portions of Tay and the former Medonte Townships.
- The Township of Severn's population is 11,250.
- Growth projections indicate that the Township's
population will increase by 5,200 with 2,210 households being
added during the period of 1996-2016.
- Growth will be directed to the communities of Coldwater,
Washago, and Westshore.
