2010 Garbage Collection Calendar
and Garbage Tag Outlets
For residential waste collection schedules and information please refer to
the calendar link above. The 2009 Residential Recycling and Waste
Collection Calendar will be distributed to each resident household in the
County through Canada Post in January. If you do not receive a copy or
would like to receive an additional calendar by mail please contact the
Customer Service office at 1-800-263-3199.
Collection Services: All waste and recyclable materials are to be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the collection day. The County of Simcoe has adopted a
1 bag per week. A garbage tag system for additional waste at $2.00
per tag has also been implemented. Garbage Tags can be purchased at various
outlets within the Township of Severn, please refer to the above-noted list.
Permit Holders: Permit holders in the Matchedash Ward are entitled to the same disposal privileges (same quantities and materials) as provided in the collection contract.
Yard Waste: There will be one separate collections of organic materials such as leaves, grass and twigs (not larger than 8 mm. in diameter). Yard wastes are to be placed at the curb in
kraft paper yard waste bags, cardboard boxes or open ended rigid containers and separate from other types of wastes. Bags containing any other materials will not be collected.
NO PLASTIC BAGS. Have your materials at the curbs at 7:00 a.m.

Household Hazardous Wastes: Residents of Severn Township may bring household hazardous wastes (paint, motor oil, solvents, propane tanks, batteries) to the City of Orillia's Household Hazardous Waste Facility for proper disposal. For more information call (705) 325-3522. No other types of wastes will be accepted.
Seasonal Roads: Seasonal curbside collection of garbage and recyclable materials will begin as of the first week of May and will continue until the end of October. Residents must provide an animal-proof container for their materials.
