Water restrictions in effect for Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision

Township of Severn is committed to providing the highest quality of drinking water possible to our residents. To support continued service, we will be constructing two new wells for the Bass Lake Water Supply and Distribution system, with work starting on April 22, 2024. We anticipate that the work will be completed by June 3, 2024. Notices were hand-delivered to affected properties during the week of April 8 to 12.

OPP and Severn to host Town Halls

Severn and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are working together to host two Town Halls in April. These in-person events have been organized to offer the Severn community an opportunity to speak to the OPP about their concerns.

Increased water flow at Lock 42 - Couchiching

Parks Canada advises that due to higher-than-normal water levels on Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching, the discharge valves at Lock 42 – Couchiching, near Washago, will be opened on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

This operation will immediately increase the water levels and flows between Lock 42 - Couchiching and the channel below the Severn River.

Council approves Severn's first Economic Development Strategy

Township of Severn is excited to announce the completion of our first Economic Development Strategy. Council identified the need for an economic strategy as part of their 2023 to 2026 Strategic Plan to enhance our capacity to attract and retain businesses. This project was funded in part by a $25,000 grant received from Ontario's Rural Economic Development (RED) program.
