Did you know…..The Township of Severn is a new municipality, founded on January 1, 1994, through the restructuring of Simcoe County.
The Township of Severn is comprised of the former Village of Coldwater, Townships of Orillia and Matchedash, as well as portions of the former Townships of Tay and Medonte.
The Township of Severn’s population is 11,250.
Growth projections indicate that the Township’s population will increase by 5,200 with 2,210 households being added during the period of 1996-2016.
Growth will be directed to the communities of Coldwater, Washago, and Westshore.
