Notice of herbicide use for Giant hogweed control on the Uhthoff Trail

Details of control measures

Township of Severn has contracted Weedman to undertake the application of herbicide to occurrences of Giant hogweed located along the Uhthoff Trail, primarily in the areas of Division Road and Carlyon Line, and Uhthoff Line and Foxmead Road. Signage will be placed in the areas of the trail that have been treated.

This work has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Township of Severn has noted occurrences of Giant hogweed along the edges of the Uhthoff Trail, primarily in the areas of Division Road and Carlyon Line, and Uhthoff Line and Foxmead Road. 

Impacts to trail users

The trail will remain open to all users. Please stay on the designated trail and avoid entering any vegetated areas that may contain Giant hogweed.

Notice of road closure for Discover Coldwater event July 8

Notice of road closure

Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) in Coldwater will be closed on Saturday, July 8  from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the second annual Discover Coldwater event. A detour will be available via Michael Anne Drive.

Final tax bills issued

Tax bill due dates

Final tax bills have been issued and taxes are due in two instalments:

• August 8
• October 8

If you haven’t received a tax bill, please contact us and we can help. Property owners are liable for property taxes and late penalties, even if you didn’t receive a tax bill.

If we don't receive your property tax payment by the due date, a late payment penalty of 1.25% will be issued on the day following the due date. An additional 1.25% will be charged each month that your property taxes...

Notice of road closure for Washago Canada Day parade

The Washago Canada Day parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m. The event will include a rolling closure of Muskoka Street (Ramsay Street to 3394 Muskoka Street) from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns about the road closure, please contact Public Works.
