Official Plan
Township of Severn's Official Plan sets local planning goals and objectives that are consistent with the County of Simcoe's Official Plan and other provincial policies. This includes identifying areas of growth and providing direction on lot creation, farmland preservation and environmental considerations.
Maps and Schedules
Maps included within the Official Plan show the different land uses, functions, infrastructure and resources within the Township. These are found within the Official Plan Schedules:

Official Plan Amendments
If you're proposing a new development that doesn't align with the Township's Official Plan, you'll need to submit a planning application for an Official Plan Amendment. A formal meeting with Township staff and your land use planning consultant is strongly recommended before starting an application.
Our new Official Plan
Our new Official Plan was adopted by Council on November 14, 2022. The new Official Plan for the Township of Severn will be submitted to the County of Simcoe for approval.
As the approval authority for the new Official Plan, the County may approve, modify and approve, or refuse to approve the new Official Plan. Stay updated on the approval process by subscribing to the Official Plan Review page.
