Severn, Ontario: Township of Severn has announced Craig Belfry as the new Director of Recreation, Parks, and Facilities. Craig assumed the role on August 21, and replaces Pat Harwood, the main contact for recreation services who retired earlier this year. Severn received notice on November 24 that based on test results from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks (MECP), the algae bloom initially identified on August 14, 2023, in MacLean Lake, Township of Severn has dissipated. Road closure for Laughlin Falls Road on August 2

Notice of road closure
Laughlin Falls Road (Lovering Line to Taylor Line) will be closed on Wednesday, August 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 200 p.m. for cross culvert replacement.
Local traffic is permitted but there will be no through access at Lovering Line. Access is available via Taylor Line.

Boil water advisory issued for Goldstein Road from Turnbull Drive to Highway 11
Township of Severn has issued a boil water advisory notice for customers on Goldstein Road from Turnbull Drive to Highway 11. This notice has been issued as a precaution due to limited flooding resulting from a scheduled temporary water system outage.
